This once little known breed of sheep is now the fastest growing non hill pure breed in Great Britain. The Lleyn originates from North Wales with its roots on the Lleyn peninsula.  Its popularity has come from its medium size and the fact the ewes are excellent mothers and easily raise 2 lambs.  They also do well on both lowland and upland pasture.

The wool is a warm white color, which is a distinctive feature of the Lleyn sheep breed. It is dense and of high quality, making it suitable for various textile applications.
Staple Length: The staple length of Lleyn wool ranges from 2.5 to 5 inches, providing a good crimp and bouncy fibre.
Lleyn wool takes dye well, resulting in rich, earthy hues when hand-dyed. The wool is free from kemp and contains no excessive peeling or stripping, ensuring a high-quality fibre for spinning.
