Sam's Special Blend

Sam is another small scale sheep farmer here on the Norfolk Suffolk border. She has a flock of a number of British sheep breeds which she has selected for the quality of their wool. Many are crosses which has added to the wonderful yarns that Rampisham Mill have been able to produce for Woolplay from their fleeces.

A basket of 4ply Sam's special blend

As the fleeces were so soft, I asked for the wool to be spun into 4 ply as well as double knit weights. The grey colour comes from the mix of the white and coloured fleeces that went into the mix. There's Welsh, Ryeland, Shetland and Jacob crosses so you're getting a wonderful mix of British sheep breeds from this wool.
