This soft, slightly lustrous double knit yarn comes from just one sheep, Lazy Boy, a Leicester Longwool cross ryeland wether. Wethers produce great fleeces as they don't expend any energy mating or carrying lambs.  The Ryeland genes has given him a thick fleece while the Leicester Longwool provides a longer staple and some lustre.  We think it's a great combination which we can make the most of by working with a small spinning mills as they are able to process just one fleece at a time.  So here it is for you to enjoy whether you knit, crochet or want to weave with it. 
 
And why is he called Lazy Boy?  Well when he was first born, he took a while (a whole weekend) to realise that he needed to get up to feed so there was a lot of human intervention to attach him to his Mum every few hours till he got the idea.  He's remained pretty chilled and likes a fuss.
